The Australian Weather Calendar online shop is owned by the Bureau of Meteorology (Bureau) ABN 92 637 533 532.

The terms and conditions govern your access to and use of this website.

1.       Website use

You agree that you will use the website in accordance with the stated terms and conditions and that it will not be used or accessed for any unlawful purpose. You will not violate or attempt to violate the security of this website or the computer systems of other users of this website by hacking. Hacking means unauthorised access, malicious damage and/or interference designed to damage or compromise the operation of this website or a computer system.

2.       Privacy

Personal information collected by the Bureau is used in accordance with its obligations under the Privacy Act 1988. Personal information is defined as information relating to an individual whose identity is apparent, or can reasonably be ascertained from, the information or opinion provided.

The internet is an insecure medium and users should be aware that there are inherent risks in transmitting information across the internet. Information submitted unencrypted via email or web forms may be at risk of being intercepted, read or modified.

3.       Site-visit data

This site is mainly operated by the Bureau, however there are some products that are provided by an external internet service provider. Users of these products should be aware of the 'Links to other sites' information at item number six of this statement.

When visiting the Bureau's shop, a record of your visit is logged. The following information is recorded for the purposes of maintaining your account and processing your order:

    • the date and time of your visit;
    • your name, email, address and customer number;
    • the names and addresses of your recipients; and
    • records of your orders.

No attempt will be made to identify users or their browsing activities, unless disclosure is required by law or due to a mandatory requirement of a court, government agency or regulatory authority in the course of a legally enforced investigation.

4.       Collection of personal information

We will, at your request, provide you with access to any information which we have collected about you through this website in accordance with Information Privacy Principle 6, Privacy Act 1988. If you believe any information is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, please contact us and we will revise the relevant information in accordance with Information Privacy Principle 7, Privacy Act 1988.

When you email us:

    • we will record your email address;
    • we will only use your email address for the purpose for which you provided it;
    • your email will not be added to a mailing list unless you request this be done; and
    • we will not disclose your email without your consent, except where the Bureau may be required by law to disclose certain information.

When you register and/or place an order on our website:

    • we will record the personal information provided by you (for example your name, address, email address, telephone number, etc.);
    • we will only use this information for the purpose for which you provided it;
    • only authorised staff will have access to this information; and
    • we will not disclose your information without your consent, except where the Bureau may be required by law to disclose certain information.

5.       Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (Google). Reports obtained from Google Analytics are used to help improve the efficiency and usability of this website. Google Analytics uses cookies to help analyse how people use this site. The information generated by the cookie about your visit to the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.

Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of our website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.

6.       Links to other sites

This site contains links to other sites. The Bureau is not responsible for the privacy practices of these websites and has no knowledge of whether cookies or other tracking devices are used on linked sites. If you have any concerns regarding your privacy, when visiting a linked site, you should ensure you are aware of the privacy policies of those sites.

7.       Payments and use of a third-party payment gateway service

Credit card payments

The Bureau accepts online Visa, MasterCard and American Express credit card payments of $10.00 or more.

Payment information entered on the payment page is processed and stored in accordance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS).

A fee applies to all card payments. The fee is a percentage of the payment amount based on the type of card used and is equal to the fee we incur from our banker.

You will be advised of the total payment amount, including the fee, before the payment is finalised.

A receipt number for online card payments will be displayed on your invoice.

Payments will be identified as 'Bureau Meteorology' on your card statement.


Processing time

The online card payment service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Payments can take up to 72 hours to be processed, longer on weekends and public holidays.

If you experience difficulties in making a payment, please contact the Bureau or try again at another time.

BPAY® payments (offline payments only)

BPAY® payments to the Bureau of Meteorology can be made using the payment reference number appearing on your remittance advice. Please note that your order will not be dispatched until full payment of your sales order has been received by the Bureau.

9.       Australian delivery

Domestic orders for small calendars are sent via standard mail services and large calendars in tubes and flat packs by Australia Post’s eParcel service. Tracking information is available for the eParcel service only. All Australian orders should include a daytime delivery address and contact details.

10.   Delivery delays

All items are promoted in good faith as being available at the time of ordering. Unforeseen supply problems or unexpected demand may occasionally result in stock being temporarily unavailable. Should there be a delay in dispatching your order we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible to advise you of the reason for the delay.

11.   International ordering

International airmail orders for large tube and small A4 calendars are delivered by Quantium Solutions. Delivery of these orders is reliant on overseas postal services. The Bureau cannot be responsible for items lost by overseas postal services.

12.   Customs and international duty

While Australian tax (GST) is removed from all international orders, please be aware that your order may be subject to local customs duties and/or local taxes in the country of destination. Please check with your local authority for applicable rates. Any additional charge must be borne by the recipient.

13.   Returns, refunds and exchanges

Sales of Bureau goods and services are final. Orders require payment before processing. Please allow up to 14 days for your order to be processed. Goods are shipped at the purchaser's risk. Claims for refunds are subject to the Bureau's approval and limited to items that were defective at the time of shipment, items incorrectly supplied or items not shipped within the 14-day processing period.

14.   Pricing

Prices advertised on this website include GST and all orders will be charged in Australian dollars. All prices are correct at the time of online publication.
