How do I order a calendar?

Click on ‘Calendars’ in the menu on the top of the page to view our products.

Next, select the ‘Add to cart’ button next to each product you would like to purchase. If you would like to order multiple copies of a product, either click on the ‘Add to cart’ button again or on the ‘More info’ link under the product description to be redirected to the product’s own page where you can enter the number of calendars you would like to purchase.

Please note: if you would like to send calendars to both domestic and international destinations, you need to place separate orders (one order for domestic deliveries; another order for international deliveries). (This is because you will not be charged GST on international orders.)

After you have finished adding items to your cart, click on ‘Shopping cart’ in the top right-hand menu where you can view the items in your cart. If you’re ready to place your order, first ensure the correct button for your shipping destination is selected, that is, either ‘Domestic’ or ‘International’. Click on the ‘Checkout’ button and you will then be directed to sign in. You can register if you are a new customer or you can log in to your account if you are an existing customer.

After logging in you will be directed back to your shopping cart. Click the ‘Checkout’ button to proceed with your order. You will then be directed to the ‘Billing address’ page where you can select or add a billing address. When you have made your selection, click on the ‘Next’ button.

The next page is the ‘Review shipping addresses’ page where you can review and/or add recipient names and addresses. Click on the ‘Next button when you’ve completed your additions and/or review. You will then be directed to the ‘Select shipping destination page’. Here you can select the recipients you would like to send each of your calendars to. When you’ve made your selection, click on the ‘Next’ button to take you to the ‘Select payment method’ page where you can choose to pay for your order either by credit card or BPAY. If paying by credit card you will be redirected to the Government EasyPay website to pay for your order.

How do I reorder calendars using my past order history?

Log in to your account and click on ‘Orders’ in the ‘My account’ menu. To view the details of your past order click on the ‘Details’ button on the right-hand side to be directed to the ‘Order information’ page. To place a reorder on this past purchase simply click on the ‘Reorder’ button. If you would like to view the products you shipped to each of your recipients before reordering, click on the ‘Shipping details’ button.

Please note: if you would like to send calendars to both domestic and international destinations, you need to place separate orders (one order for domestic deliveries; another order for international deliveries). If your past order has shipping to both domestic and overseas destinations, we recommend that you do not reorder on this past purchase but place two new orders instead.

After clicking on the ‘Reorder’ button you will be directed to your shopping cart. Follow the instructions as outlined in the ‘How do I order a calendar’ FAQ to complete your purchase.

I have just registered. How can I order calendars for other people?

Log in to your account, go to Addresses and click on the ‘Add new’ button. Add as many contacts as you wish. Once you have added your contacts, refer to the ‘How do I order a new calendar’ FAQ above. Remember: you must place separate orders for domestic and international delivery and large calendars in flat-packs are not available for delivery outside Australia.

Can I ship calendars to multiple destinations from my shopping cart?

Yes, you can ship as many calendars to as many people as you like with our handy multi-shipping function, however orders for domestic and international delivery must be placed as two separate orders. For more information please see 'GST and payments' FAQs

Why do I have to place two separate orders for calendars delivered within Australia and those shipped overseas?

Calendars dispatched for delivery within Australia incur a goods and services tax (GST). Calendars shipped overseas are GST-free. Unfortunately our system is unable to process mixed-GST transactions, so you must place separate orders to ensure you pay the correct GST.

Is there a limit to how many calendars I can purchase?

No, you may purchase as many copies as you like, until stocks run out. Delivery fees and charges may change with multiple-copy orders. Please see the ‘Prices' FAQ below.

What is the best time to order the calendar?

Calendars officially go on sale the day after the Melbourne Cup Day public holiday (early November). Sales continue until Christmas Eve, or until stock runs out. It has been our experience that it is best to order your calendar by early December in order to avoid disappointment.

Please refer to the 'total cost of calendars with shipping' information on the ‘Shipping and delivery’ page for the total cost of calendars including postage and packaging (P&P).

Are any discounts available?

Several postage discounts apply on multiple orders. Please refer to the 'total cost of calendars with shipping' information on the ‘Shipping and delivery’ page. Discounts also apply to current Bureau of Meteorology staff members, and members of certain Bureau of Meteorology-affiliated organisations. Please consult your organisation’s management for clarification on eligibility.

GST and payments

Is GST applied to orders shipped within Australia?

Yes. The amount of GST included in your order will be clearly identified on your invoice.

Is GST applied to orders shipped internationally?

No. In accordance with Australian taxation law, any items shipped for direct delivery to international destinations are GST-exclusive.

Why do I have to place separate orders for calendars going to different shipping destinations?

Calendars dispatched for delivery within Australia incur a Goods and Services tax (GST). Calendars shipped directly overseas are GST-free. Unfortunately, our system is unable to process mixed GST transactions therefore you must place separate orders to ensure you pay the correct GST on your purchase.

What payment methods do you accept?

For information on all accepted payment methods see the ‘Terms and conditions’ page.

General information

Can I order calendar postcards?

Postcards are only available to existing customers who have previously purchased calendars.

Will I automatically receive a calendar every year?

No, you must order a calendar each year. Orders open the day after the Melbourne Cup Day public holiday each year (early November) and continue until Christmas Eve, or until stock runs out.

What sizes are the calendars available in?

There are two sizes available: the small calendar (310 x 220 mm) and the large calendar (297 x 420 mm).

Are all the calendars the same?

Apart from the size difference, both the large and small calendars contain the same photography and information. There is a small difference in the date grids—see the 'Calendars' page and click on ‘More info’.

Where do the photos in the calendar come from?

Photographers submit photographs to the photo competition during the preceding year. The winning photos are featured in the Australian Weather Calendar.
